Today, I installed the latest release of Mac OS X on my Mid-2010 MacBook Pro. It’s really worth the upgrade. Some little things broke like my copy of Antidote HD. When I launched Inkscape, I was expecting it to be also broken, as every piece of X11 open-source software seems always to be hurt by every Mac OS X upgrade I did since Leopard.
If your version of Inkscape 0.48.2 is also broken, follow the steps I took and everything will be restored back to normal :
- Download and re-install the official release of XQuartz from : http://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/
- Download and re-install Inkscape (snow-leopard version works perfectly on Mavericks) from : http://www.inkscape.org
This will fix everything. If you still have problems, launching Inkscape from the terminal seems also to be a valid solution :
open /Applications/Inkscape.app
